The East Carnegie Volunteer Fire Department wants to protect the citizens, business owners, and visitors against the loss of life and property through engineering, enforcement and education.  Fire prevention conducts plan reviews for adequate fire protection, fire lanes and emergency equipment access; performs acceptance testing of built-in fire protection systems; maintains pre-fire plans, issues and controls operational permits, and conducts occupancy inspections, annual inspections and routine inspections.
